Abandoned: Soler Santos

Soler Santos’ “Abandoned” is exhibiting from 9 July to 8 August 2023 at Artinformal. Combining poster-sized photographs and found objects with oil paintings on canvas, Santos creates a sentimental atmosphere for the abandoned buildings featured in his works. He makes one wonder what are stories and memories that lay behind the broken four walls.

Sole Santos had his first one-man show at the young age of twenty-one in 1981and has been honing his skills ever since. He represented the Philippines at the 25 Young Artists (Chulalongkorn
University, Bangkok, Thailand, 1983), 2nd Asian Show (Fukuoka Art Museum, Japan, 1985), and 11th International Biennal Print and Drawing Exhibition (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, 2004) to name a few. He currently owns the West Gallery with his wife, Mona Santos, which was established in 1989.
