MoCC: Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland
Museum of Contemporary Craft, in partnership with Pacific Northwest College of Art, aims to promote a dynamic dialogue with craft through its involvement in contemporary art and design, and in preserving the history of the studio craft movement. Its exhibits mainly focuses on leading artists from both the national and international community working with ceramics, glass, wood, metal, fiber and mixed media. In 2014, Stephanie Syjuco, a Filipino artist based in San Francisco, held an exhibit in MoCC entitled "Fashioning Cascadia: The Social Life of the Garment.” The exhibit presents eight Northwest fashion designers and collectives which aims to challenge the material-focused industry in all their methods of production and marketing.
