Personal history and experiences inspire the works of Lyra Garcellano. Her photo-realistic portrayals reflect human vulnerabilities where figures are caught in mid-descent as if succumbing to the forces of gravity or sprawled on the floor in surrender. Singapore Tyler Print Institute granted Lyra a residency where she worked at the Institute from 16 - 27 May 2011. The artist takes us through her daily process of filtering ideas and engaging with the medium of printmaking.
